Gave a keynote talk
Prof. Tatsuya Mori gave a keynote talk on the autonomous vehicle security research at the 8th Franco-Japanese Cybersecurity Workshop, which was held in Bordeaux, France.
In this talk, Professor Mori discusses the intriguing aspects and trends in research on security for autonomous vehicles (AVs). He provides an overview of how AVs work, including their primary components, sensors, and the integration of various technologies such as perception, vehicle control, motion planning, and AI. Recent trends in AV security research are highlighted, focusing on possible attack vectors like sensors, AI, motion planning, and communication. Prof. Mori also introduces his team’s research on attacks against AI and sensors in AVs. He emphasizes the importance of an end-to-end perspective, realistic test/benchmark environments, and integrated software-defined defense for future research directions. Lastly, he introduces his JST CREST project aimed at realizing “Security by Design” to prevent adversarial input threats against AI-driven cyber-physical systems like AVs.
